Do you have gluten free food? If I have celiacs would it be a safe place??
Came in for brunch after appointment and though still crowded, as usual, got us seated quickly. The food is also as always, excellent, fresh moat made right there and the crab artichoke sandwich is still the best stuff around. The other member of our group ordered breakfast with fresh made pancakes and perfectly cooked eggs and bacon. Excellent food and the fresh scones were fantastic. Only thing is parking is often a challenge so be prepared to walk aways and I've never been there when they weren't hopping so be patient. The food and service is worth it.
MoreExcellent food, great people running the show, located in a beautiful city Benicia!
MoreI can't think of a better place for breakfast (other than Tiffany's, of course π) than upstairs at the 1st St. Cafe in Benicia. Delicious coffee with a view of the bay. Very friendly staff. Going to return as soon as I can so that I can try the baked goods.
MorePlaced an online order yesterday and it was super easy and quick. Iβm grateful for these local businesses who continue to provide excellent food and service during this strange time. Emily helped me out during picking up my food and she was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I ordered. First Street Cafe is a Benicia staple and itβs so important we continue to support our local businesses during this time of need. I highly recommend checking out First St Cafe if youβre looking for delicious food and great customer service!!
MoreThis place never fails to impress. They have fantastic dishes for reasonable rates, there no long wait even when the place is full.
MoreGreat breakfast. I'd give more stars but they need to do a deep cleaning of all air vents and pipes. You could see the dirt when looking up towards the ceiling.
MoreGreat jazz on sundays... good food also.
Good location near the bay, but the place is a little cramped. Server was good, and the food was tasty. Bread was the best part of the dish.
MoreFood and service is great, only the coffee is more like βββ
So glad they offer gluten free things.
Always good, particularly the in house baked goods!
Cool little spot. Really good food. Had crab artichoke sammy and was killer good. Sat outside and watched the folks cruise by. Beer could have been colder but I'd go there again and again!
MoreThe live jazz every Sunday for the past 11.5 years is the Best kept secret in Solano County. Small Venue w Top Bay Area Talent.
MoreI love this little place. The food is consistently really good, but I almost always order the Dungeness crab and artichoke sandwich. It's scrumptious! π¦ There are no fries because the cafe is in an old, historic building that can't accommodate a fryer apparently. The service is always pretty good.
MoreA hudden gem. Small but quaint cafe th0at could be quantified as 5 star for both its service and food. Coise enough to the water front or downtown area should you want to walk off some of their delicious breakfasts or lunches.
MoreGreat "hole in the wall" breakfast and lunch place. Always busy, outdoor seating on sidewalk. They offer pastries as well. Service is always friendly and fast. I'm posting the menu.
MoreGreat food. Interesting place..lots of ambience. My wife and I had dinner there. Portions were nice size and tasty. Price is on the higher end but not outrageous.
MoreGreat food great music. First class!
Walked in off the street and this place was bustling. Can see how it gets crowded. Will definitely try again.
MoreRelaxing. Good place to meet with friends. Good food!
The food here is wildly good. Like...insanely delicious compared to my expectations based on the name, location and curbside look of the venue. This place is a culinary gem.
MoreFun, small cafe with bottled beer and wine. Sandwiches and salads are the leaders on the menu. Jazz on Sunday's 2-5 now for 11 years!
MoreGreat place to go with my Dad π Awesome food
Very good sandwiches, chicken salad and BLT were delicious
Food and staff are the best! Even if you have a short wait breakfast is to die for.
MoreWe had dinner there in the food was amazing. The service was excellent and normally we go there for breakfast but this was just amazing for dinner
MoreI was there Sunday 3/8/2020 for lunch with my wife and friends and I ordered again my favorite crab with artichoke sandwich but was very disappointed this time. There was hardly any crab meat and has more mayonnaise and cheese. I have been bragging it to my friends about this famous sandwich when I ordered and tasted it 3 weeks prior for the first time. It might be a different chef that made it this time. However, my consolation was the entertainment with the lovely voice of the jazz singer and the music. I still want to comeback and order again the crab sandwich hoping it will taste like the original one.
MoreHad breakfast - the waffle sliders. They didn't disappoint. The sweet and savory flavors were enjoyable. This is a local place, with laid-back people that are full of conversation. It's an older place, and everything is not new and perfect, but it didn't matter. The food and service was excellent at this restaurant.
MoreFood was yummy! Cozy spot with outside seating and friendly spot. Homemade biscuits and good prices.
MoreThe Dungeness Crab on sour dough sandwich is my favorite lunch menu order. We like to eat here for breakfast and sit outside with our dog. Make sure you bring a light jacket for outdoor eating because it's usually pretty breezy and shady even after 12.
MoreI really enjoyed First St. Cafe in Benicia. This place is very popular so it's best to have a reservation. Its very busy and crowded, the service is great considering how busy they are. The food is really good.
MoreDungeness Crab and Artichoke Sandwich is crazy delicious here. MUST HAVE!
Good food. Nice easy to spot location. Street parking is free. Lots of tables. 2nd story available.
MoreBest scones out there, ( cranberry/oat/walnut) which they bring out first when you order breakfast. Good specials and breakfast. Haven't tried the lunch but the open faced sandwiches look delish. Good coffee and service. It all works!
MoreWe came in at the tail-end of Sunday brunch rush. They were out of several things, which isnβt surprising since we came in late. Our server was very friendly and apologetic and worked with us to find replacement orders. The food was wonderful and filling!
MoreGreat open mic! Great food!! Try the crab melt sandwich β‘
The first place I have been in when I moved to Benicia, I love it and I love all people there. Everything they have is great. A highly recommended place.Enjoy it.
MoreThis place is a gem. I go here everyone I visit Benicia. The food is very high quality. For breakfast their bacon is thick cut and delicious. Their baked goods are great and I highly recommend the peanut butter pie
MorePleasantly surprised! Came in for a typical breakfast π³ in an old town cafe (which I love old down towns - btw) and there was nothing typical about our breakfast!!! We had the corned beef and hash - it was definitely homemade, flavorful and tasty!! And a Bagel with the works - smoke salmon - fresh and delish!!Canβt wait for my next visit. Im not from the area but I just found a reason to visit more often! A friend just moved to the area and I think I just found my favorite eating spot! π
MoreThe artichoke and crab sandwich is to die for. So sad they will be closing at the end of the month
MoreIntimate space, wonderful food and the live jazz show was a delight.
Had a great lunch. Megan was our server she was efficient and friendly. Good selection of lunch items, reasonably-priced. Have had breakfast here before, which was very good as well. Now I'm tempted to come for dinner!
MoreI'm not been there for years still the best for food and service awesome
The crab system are fantastic, especially in season. Gluten free options available!
MoreThis place makes great sandwiches and salads. Gluten free bread available!
I had the Ahi Tuna Salad. It was amazing I would love to eat it for lunch every day!
MoreYummy breakfast and fresh scones make this a must go to place to start your day
It's my favorite reason a drive across the bridge from Martinez best crab sandwiches and everything else they have is excellent as well
MoreGreat service and food. I had the crab & artichoke sandwich and it was really good.
MoreGood steak salad, very good customer services.
